PJ linked to hundreds of my blog entries at the Standards Blog in her News Picks column, and it occurred to me that an entry I posted this morning might be of interest to this group - so here you are: www.consortiuminfo.org/standardsblog/article.php?story=20131014163610877The gist of it is that the five non-profit organizations principally involved in maintaining the infrastructure of the Internet, together with the four name registry organizations that manage the Internet addressing system on a regional level, have issued a joint statement expressing concern over the "undermining of the trust and confidence of Internet users globally due to recent revelations of pervasive monitoring and surveillance," and calling for the US to give up control of ICANN. And one of those entities joining in the statement is ICANN itself, the CEO of which has also urged the President of Brazil to host a global anti-US Internet surveillance summit (she accepted the suggestion). Thanks, Andy.
I am sure that I am not the only one who remembers your articles.

Thanks Andy. It is going to be interesting watching the fallout from this. I have a suspicion that this could badly damage the American tech industries. Wayne madhatter.ca
