I created a PACER account and walked through their somewhat laborious query process, looking for documents for this case (2:03-cv-00294-DN) entered between 2017/03/01 and 2017/04/15. There are tons of documents available for the case, but nothing in that date range. So - wow. Still nothing. I would have expected to at least see something in the trade news by now...

If your are looking at 2:03-cv-00294-DN, that is the district court docket, not the appellate court. You need to query the Tenth Circuit for case 16-4040. However, unless someone files a motion, there won't be anything posted there until the Opinion itself comes out, and you will be able to fetch that from the Tenth's website without the need for Pacer. It will probably be months (hopefully not a year) for the opnion to be issued.

So one word comes to mind in reply: "Doh!" You're right, my mistake. I'd chalk it up to my unfamiliarity with Pacer, but...
I was hoping for something of a transcript, but I have absolutely no idea how long it would take for that to be made available.

I was hoping for something of a transcript, but I have absolutely no idea how long it would take for that to be made available. I seem to recall PJ saying something about 3 months for transcripts to be released. That's from memory, though. I don't recall if someone has to request them, either.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. As I recall, while the court reporter always keeps track of proceedings, unless there is some reason for it, the encoded version is not rendered into a readable transcript. Generally if someone pays for it being the main reason. But if someone does pay for it, then anyone can get a copy of it once it is available. Naturally this can vary from court to court. Your mileage may vary, standard disclaimers apply.

ROFL. My trust in "technologybreakingnews.com" just went even lower. They have an article dated 4/29/2017 titled "IBM throws knockout punch at SCO" which caught my attention because of the recent post, but it ends up pointing (after several ad layers...) to a 2004 (yes, 2004) article on Linux Insider (http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/33274.html). 13-year-old breaking news. I.e. - don't bother.
Still watching for any news from the appeals court...

After all this time, do you really expect it to be quick? Everything about this case has happened on a glacial time scale so far. But it would be nice to have a result! I don't know which year it might be... -

There's a one-page doc out on Pacer, a document by Elisabeth A. Shumaker (clerk of the court), that reads as follows:
Before KELLY, EBEL, and BACHARACH, Circuit Judges.
—————————————————
This matter was argued by counsel and submitted to the court. Edward Normand
argued for the Appellant. David Marriott argued for the Appellee.
And that's all I find so far. Grrrr...
I have the document, a small .docx file. If anybody wants it...?

It may be alive, but it's sure sleeping a lot...
The oral arguments were nearly five months ago. How long is it normal to have to wait for a decision from the Appeals Court?

This is SCO we're talking about. Since when has anything legal with SCO been 'normal' or 'ordinary'?

I've been watching Pacer and haven't seen anything new since that little one-page doc I mentioned a couple of comments ago. I don't expect the courts to move at the speed of light, but I DO think it's not unreasonable to expect something faster than the speed of smell. /shrug...

OK, it has now been SIX MONTHS since the hearing. How long does it take to get a decision? Is this normal? (No, it's not. It's SCO. But is it normal, even in a messy case, for it to take six months from a hearing to a decision?)
