Thanks, celtichackr. I "think" I understand it now. Just so happens I transcribed Comes 6539I from 1999 (not sent to PJ yet) and it's all about SVG standards for browsers with Corel mentioned. Have a glance, you will have to log into GL as it won't show for non-members.

Could someone kindly translate that '633 patent language into English for me? Yikes!

At the risk of demonstrating just how inept and unaware I am, what needs to be done, or more precisely, how do I do what needs to be done? Sorry if this has all been covered before, but I can be a bit forgetful. If I select an exhibit from Comes, what do I need to do? Thanks! charlie As you probably know, pdfs can't be word searched so therefore to have a searchable version, PJ and others have been converting them (pdfs) to text with html coding as text. If you go to this link, PJ explains what html coding Geeklog will accept. This other link explains very briefly how to help. Once you get the hang of what is asked for, visit the Comes v. Microsoft homepage on GL and book a pdf. Try a one page document as a trial. If you are a member of GL, log in first and GL will track the Comes documents you book and will tell others that it is unavailable. Hopes this helps. If unsure about anything, ask away.

PJ would like help transcribing the Comes V. Microsoft documents. If everyone on this forum were to do 1-2 of 'em, it would go a long way to finishing this project. If you are leery of emailing PJ, post them here and I'll copy and send to PJ. Thanks in advance.

To me the best part of GK was PJ explaining a patent and stating that it just had to have prior art. Then I would sit back and watch/wait as the "geeks" would haul books/magazines off their shelves. Never failed that they had prior art. Always wished the lawyers of the patent case would leave a comment of thanks (anon of course). That's my withdrawal. But I'm doing Comes so still contributing in my own way.

I don't feel comfortable in trying to "recreate" Groklaw. That site was/is Pamela's site in her vision on how it should be formatted. We have here a chance to make a version of our own. Granted, it won't be the same but we must move on.

Just want to remind some that Groklaw is in Library of Congress's Historic Internet Materials Collection. The articles was ... www.groklaw.net/article.php?story=20100406141939511&query=library+of+congressI don't know currently what level of preservation can be expected or what its timeliness is. But it may not make sense to devote effort to what is already being accomplished elsewhere. I took a quick look, but cannot confirm that Groklaw is yet in the LOC digital archives. There is a section for Legal Blawgs and I came across many others there, but no Groklaw. I could be blind or looking in the wrong place. It does happen. I have posted a question to Library of Congress - Digital Reference Section, concerning this. They say they generally respond within 5 business days. I will let you all know when I find something. Good that I'm not the only one. Toured/searched the LoC site and couldn't find any reference to Groklaw. Also looked at whois for GK and I think it shows domain is okay 'til 2014-10-04. Is that May or October? (not exactly my bailiwick so I could be totally wrong)

All the pdfs/ocrs and their html version reside at Groklaw. How long will we be able to snag them and do the transcribing? Once done, then what? I have a 9-page Comes almost done, so I'll sent it to PJ in the next day or 2. Do I grab another 1 or 5 or 10?
